08 Sep 2023 - The start of the new school year found volunteers from ECo Global Consulting visiting Sitio Manggahan Day Care Center in Paranaque City.
Twenty employees took time out from a busy work week to spend a morning with the kids, filled with games, storytelling and gift giving.
They were accompanied by Springboard Foundation’s Annette Helbig and Gina Tuazon, who have been working tirelessly with this community for 13 years.
Prior to the activity, employees from ECo Global collectively raised P40,000, which was then matched and doubled by the company, for a total donation of P120,000.
With this amount, ECo was able to donate 60 schoolbags containing school and art supplies for the students, and a new laptop for Teacher Elen Argonoso.
In addition, through a generous donation of Yuki Nemoto, the kids also received lunch bags containing Japanese snacks and other goodies. Excitement and joy at the gift-giving were
reflected in the faces of both the recipients and the givers.
In partnership with Springboard Foundation, ECo has more activities planned in the future for Sitio Manggahan and other communities, as a way to give back to the
community. 'This day also marks the first step forward towards our dream at ECo (through our CSR EConnect) to provide laptops to communities in the Philippines and eventually
facilitate online learning intervention for the youth,' said ECo Global CEO Elen Dela Rosa. 'It is a first step in the right direction to fullfill our aspiration to assist
in all the ways we can to uplift lives through knowledge, education and values formation.'
